The following is a list of questions to be used when interviewing prospective wedding photographers and videographers. Their answers will help you assess if they are the right person for the job.

How long have you been in the photography business? Approximately how many weddings have you done?
Do you specialize in weddings? Are you a part-time or full-time photographer?
Do you work alone or with an assistant? Will you be the one actually taking pictures at the wedding?
How would you describe your overall style of photography? Will you include a mix of both candid and formal shots?
Do you have a list of pictures that you typically work from? Would you be willing to incorporate my ideas into the shot list?
Do you mind if I give you a list of special people with whom I want pictures?
Can I see samples of previous work and speak to a few former clients?
What types of packages do you offer?
In addition to the base package fees, will there be any hourly fees or travel costs?
How many hours will you stay at the wedding/reception? Will you leave before the end of the night?
What if the reception runs longer than expected, will there be additional fees or overtime charges?
What do you typically wear when photographing a wedding? Will you wear a tuxedo or other specified attire?
What backup equipment will be on site in the case of an equipment failure or malfunction?
Approximately how long will it take for the order to be completed?
Will you provide a contract stipulating services, dates, times, costs, etc?
